Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyaltsen (1182-1251) and Chogyal Pagpa (1235-1280): the 3rd and 4th lamas from the set of "Five Holy Superiors" (Tibetan: je tsun gong ma nga) of the early Sakya School.
Tibetan: Sa kya pan di ta kun ga gyal tsen
Cho gyal pag pa
Sakya Pandita seated centrally at the upper left holds the hands in the mudra (gesture) of Dharma Teaching grasping the stems of two lotus flowers blossoming over each shoulder supporting a wisdom sword and book. Attired in the yellow and orange robes of a monk, his head is adorned with a red pandita hat, seated with the legs in vajra posture atop an elephant supported throne. At the right is Chogyel Pagpa with the right hand performing the mudra of generosity and the left bestowing blessing. Two centrally placed lamas sit directly below. On the left a layman holds the stems of two lotus blossoms supporting a vajra and bell and on the right another lama, wearing the robes of a monk, holds flowers supporting a sword and book.
Between the upper and lower central lamas are the tutelary deities blue Akshobhyavajra and orange Manjuvajra Guhyasamaja. The teachers of the lineage of Guhyasamaja are seated at the top and extend down the sides. At the bottom center is the wrathful wisdom protector Panjarnata Mahakala.
