Lama: explaining the Buddhist teachings, performing the mudra (gesture) of explication with the right hand and the left holding a folio book. Wearing the orange patchwork robes of a fully ordained monk, the right arm remains bare according to the strict tradition of Shakyashri-bhadra. Atop the head is an orange pandita hat and the right leg pendant rests above a lotus cushion. The ornate throne is adorned with a canopy overhead decorated with three-part streamers. The back and foregrounds are filled with similar lama figures.
